makes perfect sense. The battle rife fires 3 bullets in a very short burst, however, not all 3 bullets come out at exactly the same time because that would be completely unrealistic unless the BR was a shotgun or had 3 barrels. Your shot hit him and at the same time the second bullet of the burst hit you. Still amazing timing but it is obviously possible.
