I think that you can always deflect a rocket with a grav hammer. I maybe wrong though and it might be the split second thing like NiCkoTiNe said.

yesterday in gears i got shot by the torque bow and it was charged enough to stick in me and i whacked with the shotgun and it launched back at him and killed him.

no, this can`t be done from long range. the only time you can ever deflect a rocket is as soon as it is fired. literally with in a split second or it can not be deflected. and if i`m wrong and you can smack a rocket to survive, well then i`m quitting halo because bungie is clueless...

Even if you could master this it`s not gonna be that use full.. anyone with half a gaming sense knows to point at there opponents feet.
