No, you must uncrouch right when you hit the slant, your feet act kinda like a springboard and pushes you farther.

the other edge/slide jumping tutorial says u let go of crouch right when u press a to jump off the surface. Is this true, orcan u just hold crouch throughout the entire jump? THANKS
